On 13 July 2026, the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-NET) convened an online meeting. The meeting brought together representatives from the EE-NET Secretariat and EE-NET National Chapters, including China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Uzbekistan.

Ms. Marina from the UNESCO Bangkok Office delivered a presentation on global education reform trends in the context of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), as well as UNESCO’s work plan for 2026-2027. She highlighted that key priorities in international education reform include advancing the global education agenda, strengthening teacher professional development, enhancing capacity building, and developing knowledge hubs. She emphasized that entrepreneurship education should be further promoted through strengthened regional collaboration within the broader framework of global education development.

Mr. Dean Chen, representing the Secretariat of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network, introduced recent progress made by the Secretariat. He encouraged member countries to actively contribute to the development of the EE-NET entrepreneurship education platform, with the aim of fostering regional information sharing and collaboration.

Representatives from participating countries also shared updates on the current status and future plans of entrepreneurship education in their respective contexts. Professor Xiaozhou Xu, Chair of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network National Chapter in China, presented the EE-NET’s achievements in 2025. He highlighted significant progress in areas such as curriculum and pedagogical innovation in entrepreneurship education in the context of artificial intelligence, capacity building, international research collaboration, cross-sector global partnerships, organization of international conferences and seminars, and the development of English-language academic publications in entrepreneurship education. Professor Xu also extended an invitation to UNESCO and member chaptors to attend the 2026 Annual Conference of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network National Chapter in China. In addition, he proposed that the EE-NET takes on a more active role in hosting future global entrepreneurship education alliance meetings. The meeting further reinforced the importance of regional cooperation and knowledge exchange in advancing entrepreneurship education, contributing to inclusive and sustainable development across the Asia-Pacific region.
