PANG Shujie, an undergraduate student in Public Management from College of Education (COE), won the third prize in the Final of the 17th Zhejiang University’s Chinese Speech Contest which was officially held on April 9, 2021.

As known to all, this year of 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Focusing on the theme of "Shouldering the Mission of Youth, Chasing the Dream between Mountains and Rivers", PANG Shujie vividly illustrated the story of XIANG Weiwen, a grass-roots student, who gave up his high salary offer from big companies but turned to devote himself to solving poverty problem.

Influenced by XIANG Weiwen, PANG went deep into the grass-roots practicegetting a further understanding of the actual situation of rural revitalization. On the road of rejuvenation for a century, the practice of Communist Party members and cadres devoting themselves to the grassroots is a kind of emotional transmission. Deeply moved by their spirits, PANG explored the path of rural revitalization and conveyed her ideas and feelings in the grass-roots propaganda.

In her speech, PANG demonstrated her educational philosophy that Education likes a process that one tree shakes another tree with its luxuriant branches and leaves and affects another group of people has been shared in her speech. By practicing her educational philosophy, she is playing the role of the youth model of our times!
