Introduction
The discipline of Basic Theory of Education has a tutor team with professors and ZJU 100 young professors as the backbone. At present, there are 4 full-time teachers, including 2 professors and 2 ZJU 100 young professor.
This discipline is dedicated to integrating classical theoretical research with contemporary reform practices in education across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. While focusing on the development of basic theories and actively engaging in international dialogues between Eastern and Western educational theories, it also deeply involves itself in research related to educational reform, development planning and policy-making in schools of all levels. These efforts have yielded substantial outcomes and further strengthened the international and practical influence of educational theory.
This discipline places high value on students’ international training. Faculty members maintain long-term collaborations with institutions such as Harvard University, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Washington, the University of Bristol, the University of Hong Kong, and The Education University of Hong Kong. Through these partnerships, stable mechanisms for doctoral student exchange and joint training programs have been established.
